Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 Tuning
Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 Remote Custom Tuning with HP Tuners
N2 Speed builds custom HP Tuners calibrations for the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 and its 6.2L LT1 V8 — remotely, so your Corvette never has to sit on someone else's dyno for a week. Every file is written for your specific combination of modifications, fuel and driving use. We do not resell generic canned maps.
Tuning is handled by email and data log review: you send us your stock file and vehicle details, we build the calibration, you flash it with your HP Tuners interface, then we refine it from your logs until the car is exactly where it should be.
Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 Coverage
- 2014-2016 Corvette Stingray 6.2 LT1 — 455-460 hp, 7-speed manual or 8L90 8-speed automatic
- 2017-2019 Corvette Stingray and Grand Sport — same LT1, T87A transmission module
- Direct injection and Active Fuel Management — both handled in the calibration
- 2017+ automatics — T87A TCM unlock service required for transmission tuning
The LT1 ECM flashes through the OBD-II port, but 2017 and newer 8L90 T87A transmission modules must go through HP Tuners' GM TCM unlock service before they can be written. Send your VIN and we will tell you exactly what your car needs.
What Our 6.2L LT1 V8 Calibration Addresses
We focus on LT1 direct-injection fuel pressure and spark calibration, Active Fuel Management strategy, MAF and volumetric efficiency tables, torque management, drive mode and throttle mapping, and 8L90 shift scheduling and firmness. Common supporting modifications we tune around include cold air intake, long-tube headers, cat-back exhaust, ported throttle body, camshaft package, Magnuson, Whipple or ProCharger supercharger, nitrous, E85 conversion.

HP Tuners Credits for the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1
Total Credits Needed
Credits are how HP Tuners licenses each vehicle. They load onto your MPVI4 and are spent once, the first time the module is read. Adding transmission tuning means a second module is licensed, so the credit total goes up — the options above already include both.
- Engine Only — 2014-2016: 2 Universal Credits
- Engine Only — 2017-2019: 4 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2015-2016 8L90 automatic: 6 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2017-2019 8L90 automatic: 8 Universal Credits
Manual transmission? There is no transmission control module to calibrate, so choose Engine Only and select not applicable under Transmission Tuning.
2017 and newer automatics: the 8-speed and 10-speed T87A transmission module is locked from the factory and must go through the GM ECM and TCM unlock & programming service before it can be written. We handle that for you.
Credit requirements are set by HP Tuners and can change with model year. If your car is not listed exactly, send your VIN to sales@n2speed.com and we will confirm before you buy anything.

GM Modules, Unlocks and Bench Work
Chevrolet does not lock the Corvette engine computer the way Stellantis locks 2015 and newer Dodge PCMs, so engine tuning is a straight OBD-II flash. The exception is the 2017 and newer 8-speed T87A transmission module, which needs our GM ECM and TCM unlock & programming service before it can be written. For modules that are damaged or will not communicate we also offer GM PCM bench tuning service.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 tune cost?
Our Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 HP Tuners remote tunes are $450 for Stage 1, $550 for Stage 2 and $650 for Stage 3. Pricing includes revisions after we review your data logs.
How much horsepower will a tune add to my Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1?
On 93 octane a Stage 1 calibration typically returns 20-30 hp and 25-35 lb-ft on 93 octane, plus throttle and shift improvements. Stage 2 builds see 70-120 hp with a cam package, cylinder heads or a stroker build, and Stage 3 builds see 150-350+ hp on a supercharger or turbo kit with supporting fuel. Actual results depend on your modifications, fuel quality, altitude and ambient temperature.
Do I need to unlock anything before tuning?
The engine computer on the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1 is not locked — it flashes through the OBD-II port with your HP Tuners interface. What does need unlocking is the 2017 and newer 8-speed T87A transmission module, which goes through our GM ECM and TCM unlock & programming service before it can be written. Engine-only tuning needs no unlock at all.
How many HP Tuners credits do I need?
- Engine Only — 2014-2016: 2 Universal Credits
- Engine Only — 2017-2019: 4 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2015-2016 8L90 automatic: 6 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2017-2019 8L90 automatic: 8 Universal Credits
Can you tune the transmission too?
Yes, on automatic cars. Transmission tuning sharpens shift points, firmness and torque limiting, and it is where a heavy build gains most of its drivability. It licenses a second module, so the credit count goes up — the option on each product page already accounts for it.
What equipment do I need for remote tuning?
An HP Tuners interface — we recommend the HP Tuners MPVI4 with Pro Feature Set — the credits for your vehicle, a Windows laptop with VCM Suite installed, and an internet connection. A wideband air/fuel gauge is recommended for Stage 2 and required for Stage 3. You can add the interface and credits to your order.
How long does the tuning process take?
Your first calibration is normally emailed within 1-2 business days of us receiving your vehicle information and stock file. Revisions are done in the order they are received during business hours. Set time frames are available with notice. After-hours and weekend revisions are done when available.
Can you tune a completely stock Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 6.2L LT1?
Yes. A stock 6.2L LT1 V8 still leaves power, throttle response and transmission behaviour on the table. Stage 1 is designed exactly for stock and lightly modified vehicles.
Will a custom tune affect my factory warranty?
Modifying the factory calibration can affect powertrain warranty coverage. We recommend returning to the stock file before any dealer visit. Full terms appear on each product page.
