SCT Performance builds handheld flash programmers, datalogging hardware and calibration tools used mainly on Ford gas and diesel platforms, with GM and Dodge/Chrysler coverage through Advantage III Pro Racer software. N2 Speed sells the SCT hardware and writes the calibration that goes on it: the X4 Power Flash and BDX carry custom tunes from our shop, and the Livewire Vision handles monitoring and datalogging. Pair any SCT device with our remote custom tuning and you get a calibration built for your exact combination, not a canned file.

How SCT devices work with N2 Speed custom tuning
An SCT X4 or BDX ships with preloaded canned tunes. For a modified vehicle we load your stock file, build a custom calibration around your parts, fuel and goals, and send it back to load through the same device. The device stores your factory file so you can return to stock at any time.
SCT vs Bully Dog vs HP Tuners
SCT and Bully Dog are handheld programmers: simple, no laptop needed, one vehicle per device. HP Tuners MPVI4 is the laptop-based professional platform with full table-level editing and scanner logging, and is what we use on most Dodge, RAM, Jeep and GM work. If you want to load a tune and drive, pick SCT. If you want deep control or you are on a locked late-model PCM, pick HP Tuners.

Does an SCT tuner work on a modified vehicle?
Yes, but the preloaded tunes are written for stock or lightly modified vehicles. Once you add heads, cams, forced induction, larger injectors or a different converter, you need a custom calibration. N2 Speed writes custom SCT tunes remotely and emails the file for you to load with your device.
Is the SCT X4 or BDX legal in California?
The X4 7015PEO and BDX 40490EO carry CARB EO numbers and are sold as 50-state legal in their listed applications. Custom tuning and emissions equipment changes are not covered by an EO and are intended for off-road or race use.
Can one SCT device tune more than one vehicle?
No. An SCT handheld marries to one vehicle at a time. You must return that vehicle to the stock calibration to unmarry the device before it can program another vehicle.
What vehicles does SCT cover?
SCT coverage is strongest on Ford gas and diesel from 1996 forward, including Mustang, F-150, EcoBoost and Super Duty. The BDX also covers many GM and Dodge gas applications, and Advantage III Pro Racer software is offered in Ford, GM and Dodge/Chrysler versions.
Do I need a new mass air meter with an SCT tune?
Only if you have outgrown the factory meter or changed the intake. The 90mm BA-2600 and BA-3000 meters support roughly 625 and 725 rear-wheel horsepower on the listed Ford applications and require a calibration that matches the new transfer function.
Does N2 Speed support SCT hardware bought elsewhere?
Yes. We can write custom calibrations for an SCT device you already own. Send us your stock file and vehicle details and we build the tune remotely.
