AEM Electronics X-Series Gauges at N2 Speed
AEM Electronics X-Series digital gauges are the standard tools for watching what a tuned engine is actually doing. N2 Speed stocks the X-Series wideband air/fuel ratio gauges, boost pressure gauge and oil/fuel pressure gauge — 52 mm housings with a fast digital display, a 24-bit sensor controller and both analog and serial outputs so the gauge can feed a datalogger or standalone ECU. If you are running a custom tune on boost or E85, a wideband is not optional equipment.

Why a wideband matters on a tuned car
A factory narrowband sensor only tells the ECU whether the mixture is near stoichiometric. It cannot show what the engine is doing at wide open throttle, which is exactly where a lean condition destroys pistons. The X-Series wideband displays true AFR or lambda in real time and outputs it to a logger, so your tuner is calibrating from measured data instead of assumption.
Pairing gauges with N2 Speed tuning
We use wideband, boost and fuel pressure data on every forced-induction and E85 calibration. If you are datalogging for a remote tune, install the gauge first and log its analog output alongside the scan data — it removes the guesswork and shortens the number of revision rounds.

Which AEM wideband should I buy?
The 30-0300 X-Series UEGO controller gauge is the standard choice for a dedicated wideband. The 30-0334 adds OBD-II data on the same gauge, so you can display AFR plus vehicle parameters without a second gauge. Both use the Bosch 4.9 LSU sensor.
Do AEM X-Series gauges need a bung welded into the exhaust?
Yes, a wideband oxygen sensor needs an O2 bung in the exhaust, ideally in the downpipe or collector ahead of the catalyst. The gauge kit includes the sensor; the bung is welded in during installation.
Can an AEM gauge send data to a datalogger or ECU?
Yes. X-Series gauges provide a 0-5V analog output and AEMnet serial output, so the reading can be logged by a standalone ECU, a scan tool analog input or another AEM device.
What size are AEM X-Series gauges?
They use a 52 mm (2-1/16 in) housing with a shallow depth, so they fit standard gauge pods and A-pillar mounts.
Do I need a wideband for a remote tune?
Not for every mild bolt-on car, but strongly recommended on anything boosted, on E85, or making meaningful power. It gives the tuner measured air/fuel data at wide open throttle and it protects the engine between revisions.
