Dodge Durango SRT 392 6.4L Tuning

Dodge Durango SRT 392 Remote Custom Tuning with HP Tuners

N2 Speed builds custom HP Tuners calibrations for the Dodge Durango SRT 392 and its 6.4L 392 HEMI V8 — remotely, so your Durango never has to sit at a shop for a week. Every file is written for your specific combination of modifications, fuel and driving use, whether that is a daily driver, a tow rig or a built performance SUV. We do not resell generic canned maps.

Tuning is handled by email and data log review: you send us your stock file and vehicle details, we build the calibration, you flash it with your HP Tuners interface, then we refine it from your logs until the 6.4L is exactly where it should be.

HP Tuners Credits for the Dodge Durango SRT 392

Total Credits Needed

Credits are how HP Tuners licenses each vehicle. They load onto your MPVI4 and are spent once, the first time the module is read. Adding transmission tuning means a second module is licensed, so the credit total goes up — the options above already include both.

  • Engine Only — 2018-2024: 2 Universal Credits
  • Engine and Transmission — 2018-2024 ZF8HP 8-speed: 6 Universal Credits

Credit requirements are set by HP Tuners and can change with model year. If your Durango is not listed exactly, send your VIN to sales@n2speed.com and we will confirm before you buy anything.

What Every Tune Includes

  • A custom calibration written for your 6.4L 392 HEMI V8, modifications and fuel
  • Optimized fuel, spark and torque management tables
  • Transmission shift strategy, tow/haul and torque converter lockup adjustments where applicable
  • Revisions after data log review until the vehicle runs correctly
  • Optional MDS cylinder deactivation removal, speed limiter removal and drive mode adjustments
  • Direct access to the tuner who wrote your file — not a ticket queue

What You Need Before You Order

  • An HP Tuners interface such as the HP Tuners MPVI4 with Pro Feature Set, plus credits for your vehicle
  • A Windows laptop with HP Tuners VCM Suite installed
  • Your stock read (we will walk you through pulling it)

How Remote Tuning Works

  1. Order your stage. Pick the package that matches your build.
  2. Send your information. Email your VIN, mod list, fuel type and stock read to sales@n2speed.com.
  3. Flash the file. We email your calibration, normally within 1-2 business days.
  4. Log and refine. Send data logs; we revise until the 6.4L is dialed in.

Revision turnaround: Revisions are done in the order they are received during business hours. Set time frames are available with notice. After-hours and weekend revisions are done when available.

Locked Durango PCMs

Stellantis locks the PCM on 2015 and newer Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and RAM vehicles against aftermarket writing. If your Durango cannot be flashed through the OBD-II port, we handle it with our mail-in Dodge, RAM & Jeep PCM unlock service, and we also offer Dodge PCM bench tuning service for modules that need to be written on the bench. Send your VIN and we will confirm which route yours needs before you spend anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Dodge Durango SRT 392 tune cost?

Our Dodge Durango SRT 392 HP Tuners remote tunes are $450 for Stage 1 (stock and bolt-on builds), $550 for Stage 2, and $650 for Stage 3 supercharged, turbocharged or nitrous builds. Pricing includes revisions after we review your data logs.

How much horsepower will a tune add to my Dodge Durango SRT 392?

On 93 octane a Stage 1 calibration typically returns 25-35 hp and 30-40 lb-ft on 93 octane, plus tow and shift improvements. Stage 2 builds see 70-120 hp with a cam package or stroker build, and Stage 3 builds see 150-300+ hp on a supercharger or turbo kit with supporting fuel. Actual results depend on your modifications, fuel quality, altitude and ambient temperature.

Do I need to unlock my PCM before tuning?

Yes. Every Dodge Durango SRT 392 has a factory-locked PCM, so it must go through our mail-in Dodge, RAM & Jeep PCM unlock service before HP Tuners can write to it. We handle the whole process.

How many HP Tuners credits do I need?

  • Engine Only — 2018-2024: 2 Universal Credits
  • Engine and Transmission — 2018-2024 ZF8HP 8-speed: 6 Universal Credits
Credits are licensed per module, so adding transmission tuning increases the total. The credit options on each product page already include the right count.

Can you tune my Durango for towing?

Yes. Tow calibration is part of what we do on this platform: shift points, torque converter lockup, tow/haul logic, throttle mapping and fan strategy are all adjusted so the vehicle pulls without hunting between gears or heat-soaking on a grade.

What equipment do I need for remote tuning?

An HP Tuners interface — we recommend the HP Tuners MPVI4 with Pro Feature Set — the credits for your vehicle, a Windows laptop with VCM Suite installed, and an internet connection. A wideband air/fuel gauge is recommended for Stage 2 and required for Stage 3. You can add the interface and credits to your order.

How long does the tuning process take?

Your first calibration is normally emailed within 1-2 business days of us receiving your vehicle information and stock file. Revisions are done in the order they are received during business hours. Set time frames are available with notice. After-hours and weekend revisions are done when available.

Can you tune a completely stock Dodge Durango SRT 392?

Yes. A stock 6.4L 392 HEMI V8 still leaves power, throttle response and transmission behaviour on the table. Stage 1 is designed exactly for stock and lightly modified vehicles.

Will a custom tune affect my factory warranty?

Modifying the factory calibration can affect powertrain warranty coverage. We recommend returning to the stock file before any dealer visit. Full terms appear on each product page.
