Dodge Durango 3.6L & 3.7L V6 Tuning
Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar Remote Custom Tuning with HP Tuners
N2 Speed builds custom HP Tuners calibrations for the Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar and the earlier 3.7L V6 — remotely, so your Durango never has to sit at a shop for a week. Every file is written for your specific combination of modifications, fuel and driving use, whether that is a daily driver, a tow rig or a built performance SUV. We do not resell generic canned maps.
Tuning is handled by email and data log review: you send us your stock file and vehicle details, we build the calibration, you flash it with your HP Tuners interface, then we refine it from your logs until the 3.6L is exactly where it should be.

HP Tuners Credits for the Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar
Total Credits Needed
Credits are how HP Tuners licenses each vehicle. They load onto your MPVI4 and are spent once, the first time the module is read. Adding transmission tuning means a second module is licensed, so the credit total goes up — the options above already include both.
- Engine Only — 2004-2023 (3.6 and 3.7 V6): 2 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2014-2023 ZF8HP 8-speed: 6 Universal Credits
Credit requirements are set by HP Tuners and can change with model year. If your Durango is not listed exactly, send your VIN to sales@n2speed.com and we will confirm before you buy anything.

Locked Durango PCMs
Stellantis locks the PCM on 2015 and newer Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and RAM vehicles against aftermarket writing. If your Durango cannot be flashed through the OBD-II port, we handle it with our mail-in Dodge, RAM & Jeep PCM unlock service, and we also offer Dodge PCM bench tuning service for modules that need to be written on the bench. Send your VIN and we will confirm which route yours needs before you spend anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar tune cost?
Our Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar HP Tuners remote tunes are $450 for Stage 1 (stock and bolt-on builds), $550 for Stage 2, and $650 for Stage 3 supercharged, turbocharged or nitrous builds. Pricing includes revisions after we review your data logs.
How much horsepower will a tune add to my Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar?
On 93 octane a Stage 1 calibration typically returns 15-25 hp and 20-30 lb-ft on 93 octane, plus throttle response and shift improvements. Stage 2 builds see 30-45 hp with headers, a ported intake and supporting bolt-ons, and Stage 3 builds see 90-180+ hp on a supercharger or turbo kit. Actual results depend on your modifications, fuel quality, altitude and ambient temperature.
Do I need to unlock my PCM before tuning?
2015 and newer Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and RAM vehicles need our mail-in Dodge, RAM & Jeep PCM unlock service before HP Tuners can write to the PCM. Earlier Durangos flash straight through the OBD-II port. Send us your VIN and we will tell you which path yours needs.
How many HP Tuners credits do I need?
- Engine Only — 2004-2023 (3.6 and 3.7 V6): 2 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2014-2023 ZF8HP 8-speed: 6 Universal Credits
Can you tune my Durango for towing?
Yes. Tow calibration is part of what we do on this platform: shift points, torque converter lockup, tow/haul logic, throttle mapping and fan strategy are all adjusted so the vehicle pulls without hunting between gears or heat-soaking on a grade.
What equipment do I need for remote tuning?
An HP Tuners interface — we recommend the HP Tuners MPVI4 with Pro Feature Set — the credits for your vehicle, a Windows laptop with VCM Suite installed, and an internet connection. A wideband air/fuel gauge is recommended for Stage 2 and required for Stage 3. You can add the interface and credits to your order.
How long does the tuning process take?
Your first calibration is normally emailed within 1-2 business days of us receiving your vehicle information and stock file. Revisions are done in the order they are received during business hours. Set time frames are available with notice. After-hours and weekend revisions are done when available.
Can you tune a completely stock Dodge Durango 3.6L Pentastar?
Yes. A stock 3.6L Pentastar V6 still leaves power, throttle response and transmission behaviour on the table. Stage 1 is designed exactly for stock and lightly modified vehicles.
Will a custom tune affect my factory warranty?
Modifying the factory calibration can affect powertrain warranty coverage. We recommend returning to the stock file before any dealer visit. Full terms appear on each product page.
