Expected Gains
Typical results: 70-120 hp with a cam package, cylinder heads or a stroker build. Gains vary with modifications, fuel quality, altitude and ambient temperature. We calibrate for reliable, repeatable power — not a dyno number you cannot drive.
What We Tune
- Lt1 direct-injection fuel pressure and spark calibration, active fuel management strategy, maf and volumetric efficiency tables, torque management, drive mode and throttle mapping, and 8l90 or 10l80 shift scheduling and firmness
- Wide-open-throttle and part-throttle fueling
- Ignition timing with knock-safe margins for your fuel
- MAF and volumetric efficiency tables corrected for your airflow
- Throttle mapping and torque management limits
- Transmission shift points, firmness and torque limiting on automatic cars
- Optional speed limiter removal, fan thresholds and drive mode tweaks
Vehicle Fitment
2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS, 1SS, 2SS and 1LE 6.2L LT1 (6-speed manual, 8L90 8-speed or 10L80 10-speed automatic). The LT1 ECM flashes through the OBD-II port, but 2017 and newer 8-speed and 10-speed T87A transmission modules must go through HP Tuners' GM TCM unlock service before they can be written. Total Credits Needed
Credits are how HP Tuners licenses each vehicle. They load onto your MPVI4 and are spent once, the first time the module is read. Adding transmission tuning means a second module is licensed, so the credit total goes up — the options above already include both.
- Engine Only — 2016: 2 Universal Credits
- Engine Only — 2017-2024: 4 Universal Credits
- Engine and Transmission — 2017-2024 8L90 or 10L80 automatic: 8 Universal Credits
Manual transmission? There is no transmission control module to calibrate, so choose Engine Only and select not applicable under Transmission Tuning.
2017 and newer automatics: the 8-speed and 10-speed T87A transmission module is locked from the factory and must go through the GM ECM and TCM unlock & programming service before it can be written. We handle that for you.

Locked Modules?
The Camaro ECM is not locked, so engine tuning is a straight OBD-II flash. 2017 and newer 8-speed and 10-speed T87A transmission modules do need our GM ECM and TCM unlock & programming service first, and we offer GM PCM bench tuning service for modules that will not communicate.
